Arrell Food Summit 2023

Arrell Food Institute at the University of Guelph hosted the 6th Annual Arrell Food Summit in November 2023. The theme of the 2023 Summit was “Pathways to Change,” and each of the different sessions focused on real and impactful solutions to the current challenges facing the agri-food sector and what we can expect next in terms of emerging priorities and innovations.

As the Creative Advisor at the Arrell Food Institute, I illustrated the Summit's sessions, capturing the essence of the discussions and key insights. These visual representations provided attendees with engaging and accessible overviews of complex topics, enhancing understanding and fostering deeper engagement with the Summit's themes.

The opening session of the Summit, “Food Security is National Security” was hosted by award-winning reporter Nahlah Ayed from CBC Ideas, and featured a dialogue between Paul Taylor, Inbal Becker-Reshef, Jennifer Grenz, and Patrick Webb.

Following the Summit, the recording aired on CBC Ideas. Read more about the session and listen to the recording here: ‘Charity is not a solution to food insecurity’: How to feed the future.
