A governance framework for advisory committees of council (ACOC)

City of Guelph x Guelph Lab

I collaborated with the research team and city partners to develop the visual identity, illustrations, and design for the ACOC Governance Framework — a resource that supports inclusive and equitable participation in civic decision-making.

Working closely with the team, I translated complex governance concepts into clear, approachable visuals that reflect the City’s values of collaboration, belonging, and accessibility. The design combines illustration, colour, and layout to guide readers through the Framework’s structure while emphasizing the human relationships at its core — community members coming together to shape the city’s future.

This project was a rewarding example of design as a bridge between research and practice — helping transform policy into something people can see themselves in, and act on.
